Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FindLocalClub ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the FindLocalClub website and service (the "Service").
Information We Collect
Account and authentication information. We collect your name, email address, profile photo, and authentication details. If you sign in with Google, we receive the account information Google makes available to us, such as your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile photo. If you use a magic link, we process your email address and a temporary login token.
Club and activity information. We collect information you create or provide through the Service, including club and group details, invitations, memberships, posts, comments, events, RSVPs, reactions, uploaded images, and profile information. This may include personal information about other people that you choose to provide.
Billing information. Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Polar collects the payment and billing details needed to complete a purchase. We receive information such as customer, order, and subscription identifiers, subscription status, seat count, and limited contact details. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Technical and usage information. Our servers may record information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. We also use Fathom Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic. Fathom does not use cookies or track people across websites. It briefly processes an IP address and user-agent to create a hashed, short-lived visitor signature and reports aggregate statistics such as page views and referrers.
Communications. We collect the information you include when you contact us or request support. We also process email addresses to send login links, invitations, service notices, and other transactional messages.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service;
- create accounts and authenticate users;
- operate clubs, groups, events, invitations, and other requested features;
- manage subscriptions and provide billing support;
- send transactional communications and respond to questions;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where applicable.
How Information Is Shared
We share information only as needed for the following purposes:
- With other users and the public. Your name, profile information, and activity may be visible to members of clubs or groups you join. Club profiles and content marked as public can be viewed by anyone, including people without an account. You control what you publish, subject to the controls available in the Service.
- With service providers. We use providers that process information for us, including Polar for checkout and subscriptions, Google for optional sign-in, Plunk for transactional email, Fathom Analytics for cookieless aggregate analytics, and Cloudflare for security, bot protection, and infrastructure. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy terms.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or the Service.
- In a business transfer. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of all or part of the Service, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-site behavioural advertising.
Cookies and Local Storage
Fathom Analytics does not set analytics cookies. The Service does use first-party cookies that are necessary for authentication, session security, and request protection. We also use a cookie and local storage to remember interface preferences such as appearance and sidebar state. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other parts of the Service from working correctly.
Your Content and Other People's Information
You are responsible for the personal information you include in content, invitations, or uploads. Do not provide another person's personal information unless you have a lawful reason and any permission required to do so. Content you make public may be copied or shared by others outside our control.
Data Retention
We retain personal information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. You can delete your account in settings. Account deletion removes associated data from the active Service, subject to limited retention in backups, security records, or records we must keep by law. Polar and other providers may retain information under their own legal obligations and privacy policies.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority. You can update profile information or delete your account in settings. You may also contact us to exercise a privacy right. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You can choose not to use Google sign-in and use a magic link instead. You can also configure your browser to block cookies, although necessary parts of the Service may then stop working.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Third-Party Privacy Policies
For more information about providers that handle information independently, review the privacy policies of Polar, Fathom Analytics, Google, Plunk, and Cloudflare.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. We will provide additional notice when required by law.
